Happy New Year.

My husband and I went see New Years Eve fireworks at Space Needle.

Wow! Fumiko, that's great. Looks like it warmed up in Seattle and all your snow melted. Here in London Ontario we still have quite a lot of snow and cold temperatures. We live diagonally across from the central park, called Victoria Park, and the City Hall. All the trees in the park are decorated for Christmas and there is ice skating to a live band on New Year's Eve. The fireworks are from the roof of the City Hall, so we have a perfect view from our balcony on the 11th floor.
Good luck and health in 2009.

Gilda.
I visited City of London, Canada website. Your city seems to be a family friendly nice city to live. Winter there seems to be cold and snowy. Snow is very unusual in Seattle.
